Welcome Reception

The welcome reception will take place on the evening of Friday, 28 August in the inner courtyard of LMU Munich's historical main campus.

Refreshments and Snacks

Lunch and refreshments are included in the registration fee and will be served daily during the course of the conference.

Conference Dinner in the MVG Museum

The conference dinner will take place in the evening of Saturday, 29 August in the Munich Public Transportation Museum (MVG Museum). Located in the protected heritage area of the central tram repair station, the former bus garage building has been operating as a museum since 2007. It exhibits not only means of public transportation but also repair tools, a history of transportation technology, changes in uniform-fashion and several other facts and figures about the history and development of public transportation. The unusual atmosphere of the MVG Museum will provide you with the opportunity to enjoy a "beautiful" meal and getting to know other conference participants. It will also be possible to visit the exhibits in the museum during the evening.

Getting to the Dinner Location

To make the journey an unforgettable experience, we are organizing a nostalgia bus trip to the dinner location. Oldtimer buses will pick up the conference guests in front of the conference venue at 18:30.

Getting Back to the City Centre

 

By public transportation (cost: 2.70 €): There are trams leaving every 10 minutes from the nearby "Schwanseestraße" station till 1:00 at night. The journey takes 20 minutes to "Sendlinger Tor" and 25 minutes to Munich Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof"). From "Giesinger Bahnhof", which takes 10 minutes to reach by feet from the dinner location, underground trains go every 10 minutes till 2:00 at night.


As there are several different journey options depending on where exactly you would like to go, we advise you to use Google Maps or the MVV Journey Planner to find the appropriate route. You can plan with "München, MVG Museum" as your point of departure.
